- What I Drive
- 2026 Genesis G70
Hello - New member here from Wisconsin.
To be clear, I'm the about only auto enthusiast in the family, save one of our daughters who got my "drive fast, don't die" genes. But over the years I have slowly brought my wife to the dark side. She has always enjoyed riding in my sports cars and convertibles, and accepted my auto enthusiast sickness long before we got married ( or honestly, the wedding would not have happened). I was urging her to trade in her 3.5 year old Grand Cherokee for the last year, but she is slow to pull the trigger on these things.
During that year I continued to gently push her to the Genesis G70. A month ago she asked me to show her 5 sport and\or luxury sedans and I was thrilled to do so. I showed her Cadillac, Mercedes, Audi, BMW and of course Genesis. She kept coming back to the G70 and agreed it was what she was after. We then waited for July to get here with the lease rebates and brought it home last week. Yes, a 24 month lease ($3500 rebate) because she actually told me that she wants to start switching cars every couple of years, like me. I believe her conversion to the dark side is complete!
Vatna Gray 3.3T Sport Prestige is the exact model and I am thrilled with the fact that after a week, SHE is thrilled with the car. It is a wonderful car and surprises me nearly every time I drive it. I am no longer able to dabble in fun cars because I have to own the vehicle that pulls our 5th wheel now that she is also retired (GMC 3500HD Ultimate). This car fits into the plan perfectly! She loves it, I love it and I get to drive it to get my enthusiast fix whenever I need to!
